FGA Finnish Greenkeepers Association Statement:

Finnish Greenkeepers Association aims to gather golfcourse greenkeepers together and promotes their profession and practises professional informational and educational activities. Naturally membership golftournaments belong to association operations. Association was founded 1986, officially registered 1988. Members at year end of 2008 were 580.

Finland has about 135 Finnish Golfunion Registered golfcourses. About 1000 greenkeepers work in them.

FGA publishes their own magazine Bunkkeri-Uutiset 4 times a year. The Board of FGA has sectors where selected people do voluntarily the publishing, educational -, international -, environmental issues, and exhibitions, competitions, internet work. FGA takes part to meetings with other golf associations nationally and internationally and has co-operations with STERF.

Greenkeeper Education

There are Hamk Lepaa, Vierumäki Lahti, Kao Seppälä Kajaani professional greenkeeper training available.
